I think is a beautiful work, full of energy. I like the "tea" effect, maybe the white area on her right leg catch my attention too much. I think the good point of this work is the hair, dark, and added to the back of the figure. I don't know why you choose the abstract category to this work, maybe "macabre" "horror" even "emotional" would be more appropiated because the darkness of the colours you use, specially the "tea" giving to the work a sense of "older" "ancient". Finally, I really like the hands and detailed fingers, this is the a great "touch" in the work giving more "tension" and amplifying the "drama".
It's intensely terrifying. I love the tea splotches. They make the image appear dirty and/or aged.
Her hands seem out of place to me. They look more cartoonish than the rest of the piece. The way her right arm is slightly bent in looks as though she is cradling herself (and then there's a mystery hand at the bottom).
The coloring on her back where her spine is makes it look like she might morph into a demon or something. I love the way the colors run together there (it looks like part of it is from the tea bag). It's the stuff of nightmares.
Well done, I like this alot. The five dark spots look like finger prints like someone was reaching from behind. I personally dont see the tea as adding age to it but does add a dark sort of feel to it. The reddish color and the wide black spot on the bottom center of the backbone add to this for me as well. Almost as if the skin is ready to peel apart from her backbone and expose her physical inner self and the tea is the darkness and hatred within her escaping.
I like this one a lot. I can see real echoes of your earlier work. I think it's been more expressively executed than your recent work and therefore more engaging to view. I love the way you have integrated a realistic execution of the figure with the 'unfinished' feel of the right hip. Good work!!
